Join the Team

State of the Party is about to look different.

We're the DMV's social club for people who do, not just join. We're growing the team, and the application is the work.

We're not collecting names. We're finding builders.

Real talk: people love to join things. Way fewer love to do the work. So instead of "tell us why you want in," we ask you to show us. It's faster, it's fair, and it tells us everything we need to know.

How to apply · for the next round

Three steps. That's it.

  1. Find one thing

    Look at our page, our events, our brand, and tell us ONE thing you'd make better, and how. Be specific.

    Why: it shows us how you think, and whether you actually pay attention.

  2. Show us

    Record a 2-minute video: how you'd do it, and why it's you. No script needed. Upload it to Google Drive, YouTube (unlisted), or Loom, and set the link so anyone with the link can view it. If we can't open it, we can't review it.

    Optional

    Got work that proves it (a portfolio, content, designs, numbers)? Add that link too.

    Why: anyone can type "I'm passionate." Two minutes shows us who you really are.

  3. Submit

    Everything goes through one place: the application form. Then sit tight. We read every single one, and if it's a fit, we'll reach out about next steps.

    Why: one form keeps it blind and fair, same bar for everyone.

  • Blind & fair

    Friends, family, day-ones: everyone applies the exact same way. No shortcuts, no exceptions.

  • Detail is everything

    Read the instructions and follow them. Applications open at the posted time. Anything earlier won't be read.

  • Come ready to work

    If you can't do the work, this isn't for you, and we mean that with love. We need people who want the late nights and the wins after them, not just the title.
