Privacy

What this site collects, why, who receives it and how to be removed. In plain words, because you should know before you hit send.

What we collect, and why

Email updates

The signup form on the home page takes your email address and, if you choose, the Series you're into and your phone number. It goes to our Mailchimp list, tagged with the page you signed up on, and we use it to email you when a new date drops and to tell you more about the Series you picked. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

If you tick "Text me about events", we keep that as a request for texts, with the date and time you ticked it, the number, and the exact words beside the box. We don't send texts yet. When we start, we'll text that number once to confirm, and event texts start only after you reply YES. Reply STOP to any text to opt out. If you give a phone number without ticking the box, we keep the number but don't text you.

Before your signup is sent, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are not a bot.

The Join the Team page has its own email-only signup while Applications are closed. It goes to the same Mailchimp list, tagged Source: Join the Team, and we use it only to email you when Applications reopen. It has the same Turnstile check.

Partner inquiries

The partner form sends us your name, your business, what kind of partner you are, your email, any Series you mention and your message. It reaches us as an email, and we use it only to reply to you.

Before it is sent, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are not a bot.

Visits

We don't count visits and we set no cookies. Like any website, our host and our font service see the technical details your browser sends, such as your IP address and browser type.

Links to Posh, Instagram and other sites take you to their pages, where their own privacy rules apply.

Who receives it

Cloudflare: Hosts this site and runs the bot check on the signup and partner forms. It sees the technical details any website sees, like your IP address, your browser and the pages you open.
Mailchimp: Keeps our email list and sends our emails. It holds your email address, the page you signed up on, and the Series, phone number and texting choice you gave.
Resend: Delivers each partner inquiry to our inbox as an email. It handles everything you put in the form.
Google Fonts: Serves the fonts this site uses. Your browser fetches them from Google, so Google sees your IP address and browser.
PayPal: Handles every Chip-in made with the Chip in button, on its own page, under its own privacy rules. Your payment details stay with PayPal, and we see your name, your email and the amount you chip in.
Venmo: Handles a Chip-in you send on Venmo, under its own privacy rules. We see your Venmo name, the amount and any note you add.
Cash App: Handles a Chip-in you send on Cash App, under its own privacy rules. We see your Cash App name, the amount and any note you add.
Zelle: Moves a Chip-in you send with Zelle through your bank, under its own privacy rules. We see your name, the amount and any memo you add.

How to be removed

Email info@stateoftheparty.org from the address you want removed, and say what you want gone. We'll remove it and write back when it's done.
